From September 18 to 20, 2026, the 11th Diocesan Youth Day (DYD) of the Diocese of Cuernavaca took place, with its main venue at the General Emiliano Zapata Salazar Stadium in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, Morelos.

Under the motto ‘Fraternal Youth, Friendship That Is Eternal,’ approximately 350 young people from different municipalities across the state participated in this gathering of faith, community, and Christian commitment. Parish groups, movements, and various youth ministries from the diocese came together.
The event was attended by Bishop Ramón Castro Castro of Cuernavaca and Father Hugo Alejandro Cruz Áviles. Over the three days, there were times for reflection, prayer, music, singing, dance activities, and moments of community fellowship.

Various religious congregations also participated, including the Clarisse Missionary Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, who accompanied the youth throughout the event’s activities and reflections.
One of the core themes of the event was recognizing young people as children of God and deepening the importance of living out fraternity. From this perspective, participants reflected on the origin of all creation in God’s love and on the responsibility to care for nature as an integral part of human fraternity and integral ecology.

Within this context, Sister Tere Zapata, of the Clarisse Missionary Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, shared the theme ‘Bethany, a Place to Meet, Care, and Live.’ Drawing from the Gospel passage of Jesus and his friends in Bethany, she presented this place as a symbol of encounter, friendship, care, and shared life.
The reflection connected the experience of Bethany with the care for our common home and the need to build fraternal relationships. The youth were invited to discover that faith is also expressed through how we relate to others, protect creation, and actively participate in the life of the community.

The 11th Diocesan Youth Day was an opportunity for the youth of Morelos to strengthen their faith, share their experiences, and renew their commitment to living the Gospel through fraternity, friendship, and care for creation.
