A Story of Encounter with Jesus
Blessed María Inés was born in Ixtlán del Río, Nayarit, on July 7, 1904. Reading Story of a Soul, the autobiography of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, profoundly marked her life and gave her strength to face a surgical operation.
“Later, she experienced a profound spiritual encounter with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, an experience she referred to as her ‘moment of conversion.’ This event was decisive in her decision to enter the Ave María Monastery, where she lived as a cloistered nun before beginning the foundation of the congregation.”
Another significant moment in her vocation occurred on the day of her religious vows. On that occasion, she received a promise from Our Lady of Guadalupe, which allowed her to foresee that one day she would found a congregation. After nearly sixteen years of discernment and guidance from her superiors, she left the monastery to begin this mission.
An Invitation to Discover Her Legacy
He Looked at Me” offers the opportunity to connect with the story of a Mexican woman whose life was marked by faith, missionary dedication, and love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The film seeks to make known the spiritual journey of Blessed María Inés and the origin of the Inesian Family.
The Clarisse Missionaries of the Blessed Sacrament invite everyone to attend the scheduled screenings and share this cinematic experience with family, parish communities, and anyone interested in learning about the life of Blessed María Inés.
